Our Christmas Eve!

On Christmas Eve, we told Alan's family about the adoption!! I took a pink piece of paper and wrote on it "We have started the process to adopt a little girl from China. You will be grandparents in a little over a year a half. Love Alan and Renee"

I took the message and rolled it up and put it in a bottle, and wrapped it for his mom to open. She opened it and immediately started getting teary-eyed. She was thrilled!

We cannot wait for the day that we get our referral and can share that news with both of our families!

I went to Target yesterday and got an exceptional book about international adoption: The Complete Book of International Adoption http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Book-International-Adoption-Finding/dp/0767925203

We are praying that God's will be done in this whole thing. We received word (not official yet though) that there may be some qualifications that may go into effect that may inhibit the process, but again, nothing is approved yet. Pray with us that God's will is done!

That's all for now. Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and Have a great New Year!!!

Good morning!!!!

Well, we have told my family about the adoption, and they were thrilled for us!!!! We showed them the clothes we have already picked out for her and everyone was asking questions! It was so exciting to see everyone at our house for Christmas and to be able to tell them this special news all at the same time!!!!

We tell Alan's mom and stepdad on Christmas eve :D We are just so excited to see what God has in store for us through this whole process! Thank you all for being a part and for praying with us along the way.

~ Legacy Of An Adopted Child ~

Once there were two women
Who never knew each other.
One you do not remember,
The other you call mother.

Two different lives
Shaped to make yours one,
One became your guiding star,
The other became your sun.

The first gave you life,
And the second taught you to live it.
And the first gave you a need for love,
And the second was there to give it.

One gave you a nationality.
The other gave you a name.
One gave you the seeds of talent,
The other gave you aim.

One gave you emotions,
The other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile,
The other dried your tears.

One gave you up,
It was all that she could do.
The other prayed for a child,
And God led her straight to you.

And now you ask me through your tears,
The age old question through the years.
Heredity or environment,
Which are you a product of?
Neither, my Darling, Neither,
Just two different kinds of love.

When Love Takes You In By Steven Curtis Chapman

I know you’ve heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You’ve heard about a place called home
But there doesn’t seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream

Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in

And somewhere while you’re sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart

And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever cause this love to lose its hold

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in

I can't believe it!!!!

We are adopting from China! We will have our little Savannah Li Xin Yang (Faith) within 2 years (at the most)!!!

We sent off the application to receive the paperwork on Tuesday, December 5, 2006. We filled out the application , then prayed over it and sent it on it's way.

Please keep in touch to see what God has in store for us!!
